IRS issues 2020 standard mileage rates

For business use of a car, van, pickup truck, or panel truck, the standard mileage rate for 2020 will be 57.5 cents per mile in 2020, down from 58 cents per mile last year after increasing from 54.5 cents per mile in 2018.

The standard mileage for medical care or moving expense purposes for members of the armed forces will be 17 cents per mile, which is 3 cents lower than for 2019.

Charitable mileage rates remain unchanged at 14 cents per mile. However, the portion of the business standard mileage rate that is treated as depreciation will be 27 cents per mile for 2020, 1 cent more than 2019.
